In this year more than any other, I imagine that many of you, like me, are feeling both grief and gratitude. Lately, I’ve been feeling a profound need to be nurtured. Perhaps you’re feeling this way too. Recently I’ve been asking myself each morning, “What’s the most loving thing I can do for myself today?” Sometimes it’s one extra snooze in bed in the morning. Sometimes it’s having my favorite pumpkin chocolate chip cupcake at 4:00 in the afternoon. More often it’s finding a small way to release some of the pressure that makes me want the cupcake in the first place. In the midst of what is a very unusual holiday, is there one small loving act of kindness you can give yourself each day?
