If I could still this life,

distill it down to one frame,

would I be able to capture

the entirety of my existence?

 WORK IN PROGRESS

I was standing backstage at the Hyde Park Theatre in Austin, TX, waiting with other artists and performing groups who would take the stage as part of FronteraFest Short Fringe Theatre Festival. The festival includes anything and everything that can be performed on stage in 25 minutes or less. It was a great opportunity for me to experiment with my work in a new format.

Someone asked me about my performance, “Work in Progress.” I paused for a moment.  I had been searching for the elevator pitch, a way to sum up everything I do in a short and sweet phrase. It came to me in that moment: “Storytelling through poetry and song.”

Also backstage, I met a man who was going to be recording someone else’s performance. He offered to record mine. I am thankful he did so that I can share it with you.

The video is 22-minutes long. I invite you to pour yourself a cup of tea, a glass of wine, or anything else that feels yummy to you. “Work in Progress” is a hug for your soul.
